i can't seem to make any money this summer so far.
all the money has gone to pay off credit card debt i had created while in chicago.
it's almost gone. got to save up to start off another year with some cash money.

luckily, i shall be back at the club and on the ocean soon enough!

Weird.
I am 2 days of classes/finals away from being completely done with my first year of college.
Then that leaves me 2-3 nights to be completely plastered.
I intend to be completely plastered and in the liquor tent for Manifest.
I'm totally excited for another free Manifest t-shirt!
So far this year at Columbia, I have acquired 5-6 free Columbia related t-shirts.
All minus the orientation t-shirt printed on American Apparel.
Why go to the American Apparel store when Columbia will give me a free shirt with something random printed on it?
I have rediscovered my love of just fucking around on my guitar.
My roommates being out of town all weekend helped that one.

I saw William Beckett at an Academy Is... listening party on sunday afternoon.
I told him I was going to the show today (tuesday).

At the show, he pointed at me, smiled, and waved.
I'm pretty sure it was at me too cause there were two extremely tall dudes on either side of me.

On Sunday I asked William who was opening.
It took him a few minutes to think of the band names.
He said he had never heard any of them. It sounded like the band didn't pick them.
The opening bands royally sucked.



It had to be the best I've ever seen them!

10:27AM - i'd choose myself if i believed in what was right, but i'm all wrong

in some regards, i feel like i should stop putting effort into some friendships where i'm not getting anything.
but for some reason, i feel i can't.
if  summer goes the same way winter break is going, i'll probably head back to chicago indefinately.

i cannot believe that i am almost finished with my first semester of college.
it seems absolutely insane!
it went by wicked fast too.
i'm so glad i decided to come to chicago.
i think i would have regretted not going.
it makes going home and seeing everyone make it worthwhile.
it's like i appreciate everyone more i guess.
less than two weeks and i'll be home for 5 weeks.
crazy, i know.

i think i'll miss chicago and people at school when i come home.
chicago keeps feeling more and more like home.
so it's gonna be really weird being back in mass.

this is a break from studying for my econ final.

it's almost that time again.
time to register for classes. spring classes to be more specific.
i'm going to try and get all my classes on either monday, tuesday, wednesday or tuesday, wensday, thursday.
i know 3 classes i already have to take: 
the art and business of recording, english comp 2, and intro to marketing the arts.
the other 2 are up in the air.
i'm thinking of taking a science and a humanities.
for science i either want to take crime scene investigation or marine biology: from nemo to jaws.
the marine biology really just because i like the name of the course.
for humanities i was thinking about arabi 1 because that will cover my global awareness requirement.
things are still up in the air and my decision will be made by what's left.

i've discovered that the horoscopes in the columbia chronicle are probably the best horoscopes in the world.
for example mine (libra) is:
Cigarette holders only work for drag queens and Batman's portly enemy the Penguin.

11:48AM - i thought i would update this for all my avid readers

this week is already fucking midterms!
i don't really know where all the time went.
i got a job at this italian restaurant type place working i think at a coffee bar.
i think the restuarant is run by the mob.
i ask simple questions like "what are the wages" or "when am i working" or "what is my job title" and they respond with "it's under negotiation".
my mom flew in on friday.
we went to giordano's for some deep dish pizza.
i told her i got a fake.
she told me she had one too.
yesterday we went down to wicker park.
she had a corona with lunch.
i had a sam adams.
i am thoroughly amused with myself and my mother.
we went to see the Departed last night.
really fuckin good movie except it barely had boston in it.
it could have taken place anywhere.
i got a haircut today.
she took more off than i wanted.
i don't recall my hair being this short in recent years.
i am supposed to pull it up for work. i'm not sure if that's gonna happen.
i'll be home the tuesday night before thanksgiving.
i want to see as many people as i can.
i want to plan a little weekend trip up to NH at winter break.
my grandparents have a house up there. i have to talk to them.
we had a conversation about the departed in my english comp class before class started.
they made fun of the way i said "the departed"
one kid was all like "i like the irish punk in the movie"
and i was like "that was the dropkick murphys"
and he was like "no, i don't think it was"
i wanted to say something like "yes it fuckin was the dropkick murphys. i am from boston, am irish, have seen the murphys play and i can tell you the name of the song in the movie they play"
too bad class started.
